Those who have lived in the Valley of the Sun for a while know that the only way to happily make it through an Arizona summer is to stay inside. Staying home is certainly an option. We’re all about family game nights! But you’ll start to go a little stir crazy if you don’t mix in some fun family outings.

There are so many museums in Phoenix and many of them offer free admission on certain days of the month. Children’s Museum of Phoenix offers free admission for kids under 10-years-old from 5 p.m.–9 p.m. the first Friday of the month.
A great place for a day with the kids and their friends, this indoor center is packed with fun. Try out European-style kart racing in a fully air-conditioned facility. With four locations across the Valley, there’s probably one near you!
Are you as excited for The Lion King as we are?! Places like Flix Brewhouse offer a dinner and movie experience all in one. Plus, kids eat free all summer. Sounds like a great excuse for a family movie night.
Check out Board & Brush for a creative and fun indoor experience. Instructors guide you through your choice of wood project, like a coffee table tray or milestone chart. They bring the supplies, you bring the creativity.
If you’ve ever walked into a public library on a hot summer day, it’s a refreshing and calming experience. Check your local library for classes, activities, and reading programs for kids and adults. In case you forgot, it’s free!
If you’re looking for a weekend family outing, check out one of Arizona’s aquariums. OdySea and Sea Life Aquariums provide hours of indoor fun and learning. Explore underwater creatures and check out one of their upcoming events.
Indoor trampoline parks and adventure centers, like Pump It Up, are fun for younger kids and it’s a great way to have some fun while staying cool. There are many different places to choose from across the Valley!
Located in Scottsdale, Glow Putt is a must-try experience this summer. Play a round of mini golf in the cool darkness and see how you do. They even have a party room for summer birthdays!
It’s too hot outside to go on a hike, so why not try indoor rock climbing? Phoenix Rock Gym and AZ on the Rocks are just two rock climbing gyms located in the Valley. Go check them out!
