Ready for some holiday family fun? We are too! It’s never too early to start planning your holiday family activities. There’s so much to do in Phoenix this holiday season including ice skating, Santa photos in a train car, tree lightings, holiday hotel packages, and even s’mores by the fire.
We compiled our favorite family things to do in Phoenix this holiday season. Check out the list below.
Holiday Cheer at the Wigwam
The Wigwam hosts many holiday activities for the whole family. On Saturdays and select Sundays in December, kids can have breakfast with Santa and enjoy a fun holiday craft. Other activities include Holiday Nights in Lights, elf stocking deliveries, fireside s’mores, and Christmas dining.
Las Noches de las Luminarias
Las Noches de las Luminarias at Desert Botanical Garden is an enriching and festive entertainment experience. Sip on hot cocoa as you walk the grounds lit by more than 8,000 hand-lit luminaria bags, twinkle lights, and vibrant desert landscape. The event features music, storytelling, and other entertainment ensembles. Tickets are required and you can purchase them online.
Electric Light Parade
A Phoenix tradition, the APS Electric Light Parade is a fun family activity to celebrate the holiday season. Watch the floats, bands, and other local participants walk the streets in their festive attire.
If your kids love the zoo then they’ll love seeing it lit up by millions of holiday lights. Celebrate the holidays with the animals as you walk around the grounds and sneak a peek at what it’s like after dark.
Teach your kids how to care for each other during the holiday season. Located in the Water Tower Plaza in Old Town Gilbert, the Giving Machine is one of five around the world. You can participate in the #LightTheWorld campaign by purchasing an item from the machine that gives back to many different charities and causes.
Located at 1146 North Quail Lane in Gilbert, this light display is set up like an airport with the whole Peanuts gang. Check it out nightly starting at 5:30 p.m. through January 3.
Christmas at The Princess
Enjoy a magical night at Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. Kids can sit on Santa’s lap and get their picture taken. Other activities include ice skating, S’mores land, and holiday character appearances. Check out their website for details on parking and admission.
Holiday Lights at the Railroad Park
Christmas caroling and a festive train ride are just the beginning. Santa will be posted up inside a historic train car, ready to take notes on the kids’ Christmas list. Special tickets are required for the Holiday Lights train ride.
